Recently, Charlie Brooker posted a link on Twitter to a Spotify playlist that contained most of the music he had used in his Screenwipe and Newswipe programs. That got me thinking, I wonder if anybody had done the same thing for Ideal. I couldn't find one, so using the music list in this forum, I've added as much as I can find on there in to a playlist. I reckon about a third of that entire list is available on Spotify, so it contains 26 tracks at present. Hopefully as Spotify add extra music to their service, this playlist can grow, although a lot of the missing tracks look to be on the obscure side! ( Spotify is that free streaming music service if you're not aware of it - http://www.spotify.com )

Well, I think like a lot of people, the music plays a big part in my enjoyment of the show, so it was nice to be able to find this music (in a legal way!). It was great to find the music listed in these forums and I've discovered all sorts of nice music as a result of listening to this lot. I'd still love to buy a box set or pay for a set of MP3's if that ever becomes possible though

THis has probably got to be one of the biggest and most asked questions on here but how do I get hold of of "Is Katie alright?" by Celebricide? I really really want it as it's astonishingly brilliant. I was well chuffed when I got the Mariposa track used in series 4 onwards.
BGy the way this is my first post on here and big hello to all.
Phil.

Hmm. I'm going to have to get off the Luddites bench eventually and sign up for Spotify at some point I see. Cheers for the link.

Spotify has been an absolute arsewipe with me in the past but I am intrigued as to which songs are in this playlist!

The selection of music on Spotify is much greater now compared to when I first created that playlist above - I've added a lot of extra tracks now - there's still a lot missing though - but, there are 72 and it lasts 5 hours so it's not bad! The playlist link: http://open.spotify.com/user/publicenergy/playlist/4ZVv9Ec0iTHaladFnjJVMnFor reference, here's the spreadsheet I use to work through - it was basically a list of music mentioned on this forum, sorted with the duplicates removed - I've highlighted the tracks I found on Spotify in green - the rest aren't on there (yet). http://db.tt/5RmYZ0ZI will go back periodically and update it again.

Nice links ... although I confess that I un-installed Spotify as it rarely had the tracks I couldn't find elsewhere so I tend to build my own lists and mixes at home.

Brilliant work publicenemy! You've really worked hard on finding those songs. Shame not all are available. Its such a pity they seem to eb reducing the choices of music we can listen to for free on there these days.
Lee.

I think the selection available on Spotify gets better and better as time goes by. To be able to find over 5 hours worth of music from Ideal is quite impressive considering very little of it is what I'd call mainstream popular. Most of it is really really nice though and I've discovered all sorts of great stuff as a result of looking in to this. I found some extra tracks from series 1 today and added them as well by the way. I do like the fact that these Spotify playlists are subscribed to rather than copied or imported - so if changes happen later, you get them. I think that combined with the Facebook integration (which rumour has it is going to be much bigger in the next few weeks) makes it a lovely product! I don't work for them - I just love using it! Anyway, new Ideal Tonight! PS. If you don't have Spotify installed, you can see which tracks are on the Playlist at http://sharemyplaylists.com/ideal
