The song playing while Moz is jumping on his bed is "I Can't Wait" by Brassy.

Can anyone identify the first song Kuldip played as DJ in this episode?

It's a fairly long section of music and starts right after China's friend Asia arrives with a bloke who hands Moz an empty beer can and they exchange words.  This song is playing while they show people dancing until Nicki asks PC to take his coat off.

Some of the lyrics sound like this:

Don't stop, get funky (refrain)
...
Beatnik brothers gonna break the band
...
swimming in the ocean
...
Hands in the air

Well, the lyrics sound like that to me anyway.  They could easily be different and some are missing.

Thanks
Mike

I haven't managed to track that one down yet, I'll have another go when I get a min. Mr Duff will sort us out if we get stuck but I beleive he's a bit busy at the moment finishing scripts for filming.

Or possibly

You're [Get?] funky You don't stop You don't stop You don't stop (refrain)
Gangster boogie on a oneway track
Beatnik mothers?

& something about walking a tightrope

Like Guldip says

'I've got lots of obscure stuff'

That's a good take on the refrain

Gangster boogie on a oneway track ?  could be, could be, sadly it doesn't help me get a search match to lyrics anywhere

Hope it's not so obscure I can't get it if it is identified.  Is Kuldip's "white album" collection for sale somewhere? Smiley

& a big welcome to the forum McQ, put on some tunes and make yourself at home. I found my way here looking for info on the music and I'm guessing you did too.

Don't you fret, McQ, the good folks here will find out that song sooner or later. Wink
We have our methods... Mwahahaha! Ahem, did that sound too nefarious there? Tongue

Hi McQ, I dug that ep out and couldn't put a name to it either.

At exactly what point is the song played in the episode? I'm just thinking, I have a song identification program on my phone which might be able to name the elusive track.

You could try the old Shazam, but it doesn't know half the stuff I play (my trial is over, so I can't try it). It's as said s1e6, the first tune heard after Kuldip starts his set.

Okie dokie, I've got a built in version on my phone - its not Shazam but something similar (I only discovered it this weekend thanks to a friend) which may or may not eb able to do the job.

Cheers Mr Wrom, you font of knowledge, you!
Cannae do it right now though, dad's asleep on the chair so I don't wanna wake him. And besides, I'm heading off to bed. If the lil kitty cat curled up against my leg will allow me to...

I hereby bump this thread, I too am looking for the missing tracks from this episode, and judging by the number of views, a lot of other people do too.

Too obscure for music recognition software, I fear the hunt will go on, but hopefully the right person will see this and know instantly.

I'll see what I can do about a track list for series 7 & ask about this one at the same time ... it's likely to be sorted after the end of the series.
