Just received an e-mail from the great man himself Graham Duff:
We're well on course for Series 5. We start shooting in just over five weeks time. So I'm still busy writing. Well, the one off show I mentioned won't now be happening next year. The BBC initially asked us to do a live to air episode. However, due to scheduling difficulties, that idea has been shelved for the time being.
The IDEAL Series 5 Episodes are as follows 1) The Healer. 2) The Temptation. 3) The Red Bag. 4) The Documentary 5) The Chance 6) The Passports.
As you will notice there are only 6 episodes this time round. The series was commissioned so late in the day there simply wouldn't have been time for me to write 8 scripts before we started filming. Anyway, never mind the length, feel the quality.
In the aftermath of Jenny's shooting, Moz decides to give up dealing and go straight. However, this isn't as simple as he thinks. Across the landing, Moz's dad Keith moves into Judith's old flat, whilst the pregnant Judith embarks on a dangerous new affair. Meanwhile Troy arrives back on the scene with a bang, Colin and Carmel are planning to get married, and Silicone Valets are being followed by a camera crew.
Also we learn a little more about the Red Bag, Fist and the strange creature which lives in the wall between his flat and Moz's...
We're hoping to have a couple of great guest stars in the new series, and there will be more extensive musical and hallucination sequences. We've got an excellent new director on board: Ben Wheatley who's just directed both 'Modern Toss' and the recent BBC 3 comedy series 'Wrong Door'.
I'm also just starting to put together the extras for the series 4 DVD.
These will include:
Commentaries Deleted & Extended Scenes Out-takes Documentary about the music used in the series featuring interviews with several bands. Featurette about the making of 'The Past' the 1993 episode. Trailer Animatics Photo Gallery Alan's Special Easter Egg.

Superb news that, I am feeling the quality already. I assume the live to air special was off the back of the two pints live experience. If Mr Duff happens to read this I would love one of my lava lamps to be left in the background somewhere in Moz's flat but I am being cheeky now Please let one of the "great guest stars" be Barry Adamson

YAY!!! Thankyou for this news, Moz! Ans thankyou to Graham for making us fans so darned happy!
If I remember rightly, Moz has tried giving up dealing once before, with typically disastrous consequences. LOL Lets hope the mood is a little lighter though, too. A little happier in spite of the potential 'dark deeds afoot', shall I say.
I notice there's no mention of the gang's fate - I guess the splintering of the group was the death knell for them, eh? Or is it?! *lol*
Hee, me boys, the Silicone Valets are still hangin' in there! (That means I can look out in the reports for Andrew starting filiming up North again! Wheee!) Sorry, I've got a one track mind over here... But Lee, Jason and a film crew... and will we ever get to see Andy, the band's third member... maybe its Fissssst!
Okay, I'm getting silly now. Its late (or is that early considering its 1:35am) so I'd better go to bed beffore I get really daft.
Lee.
